Isabel Miramontes was born in 1962 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Working in bronze, Miramonte’s expressive sculptures are inspired by the human physique and explore the complex nature of our emotions.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This sculpture showcases an abstract body cut into strips, evoking the idea of mummies wrapped in strips of cloth. It symbolises that when human bodies begin to disintegrate that this is the only memory left of the body.
